Well, we’ve already given you tons of Christmas shopping tips, so why wouldn’t we do the same with one of Canada’s favourite traditions? Follow these tips to make sure that your Boxing Day is a very happy one!
Look at ads and apps first
No one needs to tell you to do a little research before you go by checking out all the flyers and ads, finding what you want, and then comparing stores to see which one has the best deal. But did you know that there are also Boxing Day apps you can use? These will not only tell you when stores open and where the biggest deals are, they’ll also help you find a place to park once you get there!
Compare online before you go
Most stores will be advertising their Boxing Day sales, and telling you just what will be for sale, prior to the day of. Check these out too, but also make sure that you check out comparison shopping sites such as PriceGrabber.com. They’ll have all the comparisons done for you so you don’t need to visit each store’s individual website.
Beat the crowds at midnight
A few stores will start offering their customers discounts early by opening in the wee hours of dawn, or even starting midnight madness sales. Ask around to see who’s doing this and, if you can stay awake for it, make sure you’re one of the first ones there when the shopping starts.
Bring the ads with you
You thought you were done with all those ads once you finished looking at them? Bring them with you instead of just jotting down items and throwing the flyer in the trash. Many stores will price match, but you’ll need an original copy of the advertised sale price in order to take advantage of these deals.
Boxing Day shopping can be a lot of fun, but it can be a day filled with stress too. Follow these tips to ensure that you get the best deals, and that your Boxing Day is just as merry as the rest of your holidays! Happy shopping!
