Toronto and Vancouver Real Estate News Roundup
I came across this short news blip in the National Post the other day announcing “record-shattering demand” for condos in Toronto in 2009. Sales picked up in the third quarter, making it the third-highest quarter on record. Despite the fact that 2009 started off gloomily, the gloom didn’t last very long.
Meanwhile in Metro Vancouver, consumer real estate reached a new high in January 2010. Up from 20 per cent at the beginning of 2009, the new benchmark price for a single-family home hit $788,499.
Still discussing the Vancouver area, it seems that the market is only going to get hotter as television coverage of the upcoming Olympics showcases British Columbia’s gorgeous views. Even Rick Mercer’s blog this week discussed how “the entire world is going to freak when they see how beautiful Vancouver is. See we forget, we take this for granted but British Columbia, that’s one sexy looking province”.
It looks like the real estate market is going to continue to sizzle in 2010 for both Toronto and Vancouver.
